about

In 'Suburban City Life', you see the 'Brown Park Kids' from the Southside are back and in as much trouble as ever. The Story begins as the young boys of the neighborhood youth gang ,GFC are entering high school. In a time where opportunity was low and tensions were high, the boys from 'Beaver Park' were once again in the middle of most of it. But as their lifestyles in the streets progressed, so did the consequences. Everything referenced in the 'Stolyn Byx' ep is brought to life in greater detail, and bringing it a step further, the story progresses with the boys moving through high school and into early adulthood. Where you see some of them removed from the picture for various reasons and new members join to take their place, eventually leading to an overall revamp and evolution of the gang. You are also shown the quick change in severity of the their lives in the streets, and the way some of them adjust, and some don't. Drug money, gang violence and armed robbery have quickly become the norm. But so do prison cells and funerals.

Presented in the form of a 'neighborhood audiobiography', the way its conceived and delivered is directly inspired by PTSD induced flashbacks. Life in the Second Street projects was as unforgiving as it was unique. A place where poverty, crime, racial and social prejudice were the norm. ... more
